![]() But it's very easy to proc flanked between the debuffs and the pet. Now, Ghost Heart is the obvious subclass in Ranger, but what is the best config for Cipher? No subclass, Beguiler or Ascended? Beguiler COULD be perfect if the bonus was on shred spells instead of mind confusion (forgot the proper keyword name). But I think it can be done very well, and wreak havoc in PotD. My only concern is that it's really hard to make a balanced point progression (if you want to use your ghost pet) because of the amount of skill points you need to properly build a ranger. ![]() Cipher spells are varied enough that you can use them to round out a build.I always thought the Seer multiclass had lots of potential. Penetration is very important now with the way armor works. Soul Whip gives a passive 20% boost to weapon damage (upgradeable to 30% later) and Hammering Thoughts gives a passive +1 penetration to weapons. One thing is sure, Cipher is a very strong multi-class for weapon focused build. ![]() I'll probably return to inquisitor on the next playthrough. The start isn't as amazing as Inquisitor, but it's a solid start still. I felt I should do a pure class for my first run and couldn't shake the feeling I wanted a dual wielding fighter with the fighter's top end abilities. it felt almost over-powered and was just getting better.Įven so, I put that inquisitor on ice. I suspect Inquisitor's power will wane somewhat later as pure classes come into their bigger ticket abilities, but I'm not so sure. or I could bust out with a few hand picked Cipher abilities for AoE. Focus filled extremely fast from all the melee damage being dished out, and Soul Annihilation wrecks. Cipher's Soul Whip is a big passive damage boost (with promise of Hammering Thoughts passive later for passive penetration bonus). I was getting a fair bit of free healing while dishing out damage with Flames of Devotion (thanks to Kind Wayfarers). It felt practically invincible, despite going with dual wielding. I picked Kind Wayfarers for Paladin and Soul Annihilation for Cipher. Inquisitor was a freakin powerhouse right from the start. So I made another multiclass, because I didn't learn my lesson the first time. After some time in the game though, I found Barbarian carnage wasn't really doing much for me, and I'd rather have the top abilities of either class that are unreachable with multiclass. Barbarian mix gives Fighter a bit more AoE. well, hopefully! :)īrute is a natural choice for a powerful warrior. Pallegina - Paladin (skilled towards defensive tank) Eder - Fighter (skilled towards offensive DPS) My Character - Cipher (Ascendant subclass - rogue + support caster) That's why my final, "ultimate" party when doing the proper playthrough is going to be. I'm going with Cipher because I have no interest in the -to me rather annoying- Cipher companion Serafen (except for doing his quest and then dumping him ASAP).Ĭipher also makes the most sense from a RPG perspective for the main character and you get good boni to rogue-ish stuff from the start. It is definitely nice to have a character with high perception and some rogue skills in the party so I plan on fulfilling that role in my proper playthrough with a Cipher. Well, at least if you stick with Eder's default class which is fighter. it was like this in the first game as well) is a rogue/mechanics kind of guy. What is notably absent from the game in terms of companions (again. whether you are a fan of the first game and want to team up again with your loyal companions or do you want to play mostly with the new guys or a mix of both. I think that would also depend on your planned party composition, e.g.
